VMoto, a prominent player in the world of electric two-wheelers, has ventured into the realm of off-road riding with its latest offerings: the On-R and Off-R electric motorcycles. As the popularity of electric alternatives continues to grow, even off-road enthusiasts are embracing this eco-friendly trend, driven in part by the closure of many parks due to noise pollution from traditional internal-combustion dirtbikes.
Hailing from the heartlands of China and Australia, VMoto, known for its Super Soco brand, has already made a name for itself with its wide range of electric two-wheelers tailored for urban environments. With the introduction of the On-R and Off-R models, VMoto expands its horizons, promising thrilling adventures beyond the asphalt.
Both the On-R and Off-R share a common platform, making the transition from road to rugged terrain seamless. The electric dirtbike foundation includes features such as long-travel suspension, wire-spoke wheels, and sleek bodywork, ensuring a capable performance.
VMoto presents the On-R and Off-R in two distinct versions: L1 and L3. In the L1 configuration, the top speed is limited to 28 miles per hour (45 kilometers per hour). Meanwhile, the L3 specifications offer an increased top speed of 56 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) for the On-R and an impressive 69 miles per hour (110 kilometers per hour) for the Off-R model. The bikes also differ in their head angles, with the On-R boasting a 30-degree head angle and the Off-R designed for off-road adventures with a much slacker 18-degree angle. Notably, the Off-R sports knobby tires for enhanced grip in challenging terrains.
Both models are equipped with a mid-drive electric motor that delivers a nominal output of 5.3 horsepower (four kilowatts) and a peak output of 11 horsepower (eight kilowatts). The battery options include a 2.3-kilowatt-hour unit or a larger 3.45-kilowatt-hour unit, offering charging times of 2.5 and 3.5 hours, respectively. As for range, the bikes are capable of covering distances of 42 to 65 miles (68 to 104 kilometers), depending on the chosen battery.
VMoto has launched the On-R and Off-R models in the Italian market, priced at 6,990 Euros, or approximately $7,511 USD. Pricing and availability may vary by region, so it’s advisable to contact your local VMoto dealer or visit their official website for further details.
