Ranbir Kapoor’s much-anticipated movie ‘Animal’ has been given an ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification, signaling an adult audience. This movie, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, promises a substantial runtime of over 3 hours. Excitingly, the OTT (Over-The-Top) version is anticipated to be extended by an additional 30 minutes from its original length.
The star-studded cast includes Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol in significant roles. The storyline primarily revolves around the relationship between the father (played by Anil Kapoor) and son (played by Ranbir Kapoor). The theatrical version already spans 3 hours and 21 minutes, and the OTT release is expected to be even longer, providing audiences with an extended experience.
Ranbir Kapoor highlighted that the narrative of ‘Animal’ necessitates this extended duration to properly engage and connect with the audience. He mentioned that the initial cut was nearly 3 hours and 49 minutes, ensuring an entertaining cinematic journey.
Initially, the filmmakers had planned to release the longer version in theaters with two intervals. However, to ensure a more cautious approach, some scenes were trimmed, resulting in a 3-hour and 21-minute runtime for the theatrical release.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga, renowned for ‘Kabir Singh’, directs ‘Animal’, marking his second venture in Bollywood. The movie is set for a theatrical release on December 1 and will compete against Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’ at the box office.
Anil Kapoor essays the role of Balbir Singh, Ranbir Kapoor’s father in ‘Animal’, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays Geetanjali, and Bobby Deol takes on the character of the main antagonist, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.
