The Orxa Mentis e-bike has arrived to compete with the Ultraviolette F77

The landscape of electric mobility is undergoing a significant shift, and Bengaluru-based Orxa Energies has stepped into the ring with its latest offering, the Mantis. Branded as the ‘lightest bike in its class made in India,’ this performance electric motorcycle is set to rival the Ultraviolette F77, a similar e-bike from Bengaluru’s EV startup Ultraviolette Automotive.

Pricing and Booking Details

Priced at ₹3.6 lakh (ex-showroom; Bengaluru), the Mantis flaunts an added attraction—a new 1.3 kW charger. Potential buyers can seize the opportunity by making bookings on the manufacturer’s official website. However, deliveries are slated to commence in April next year.

Early birds have a chance to secure their spot by paying ₹10,000, applicable to the initial 10,000 buyers, while subsequent bookings require ₹25,000 as the booking amount.

Powertrain of the Orxa Mantis

Tipping the scales at 182 kg, the Mantis sources its power from a PMS liquid-cooled electric motor. Remarkably lightweight at just 11.5 kg, this motor boasts impressive figures, generating a peak power of 27.4 bhp and a maximum torque of 93 Nm.

Performance and Battery Capabilities

An in-house creation, the Mantis harbors an IP67-rated battery pack totaling 8.9 kWh. With a claimed range of 221 km (IDC) on a single charge, this electric two-wheeler boasts an acceleration time of 8.9 seconds, propelling from 0 to 100 kmph.

Innovative Features and Design

In a bid to maintain agility, the Mantis touts a fully-cast, aerospace-grade all-aluminum chassis—a pioneering feature among Indian two-wheelers. Elevating the riding experience, it integrates a 5.5-inch TFT screen, Ride-by-Wire technology, among other advancements.

The Color of Orxa Mantis

Adding a touch of individuality, the Mantis offers riders a choice between Jungle Grey and Urban Black color schemes.

Conclusion

With the introduction of the Orxa Mantis, the electric vehicle domain witnesses the entry of a potent contender challenging the status quo. Its amalgamation of performance, technology, and innovation in design sets a promising tone for the future of electric motorcycles. As the battle for sustainable mobility gains momentum, the Mantis emerges as a compelling option for enthusiasts seeking an exhilarating and eco-conscious riding experience.
