Tata Safari and Harrier Achieve Top Five-Star Safety Rating in Bharat NCAP Crash Tests!

Great news for car safety enthusiasts! The Tata Safari and Harrier have aced the Bharat NCAP crash tests, bagging an impressive five-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. This achievement marks a significant milestone for car safety in India.

Earlier this year, the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat NCAP) was initiated by Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways. The recent announcement by BNCAP highlights the Tata Harrier and Safari as the pioneering cars in India to undergo and pass their rigorous crash testing.

In the comprehensive evaluation, these SUVs were subjected to various impact scenarios including frontal, side, and pole side impacts. Notably, both the Tata Safari and Harrier had previously received a perfect five-star crash test rating from Global NCAP under the ‘Safer Cars for India’ initiative.

The Tata Harrier and Safari excelled in their safety performance, scoring 30.08 out of a maximum 32 points for adult occupant protection and 44.54 out of 49 points for child occupant protection. These outstanding scores apply across all variants of the recently launched Tata Harrier and Tata Safari facelifts. It’s important to note that participation in the Bharat NCAP crash test remains voluntary at present.

The safety features embedded in Tata Motors’ SUVs are impressive, including offerings like up to seven airbags, electronic stability control, hill assist, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchorages in the second row, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control, front collision warning and avoidance, lane keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking.
