Prabhas’ Salaar, featuring Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in prominent roles, originally slated for a September launch, now gears up for a November release. The specific release date remains undisclosed, but the film’s postponement was confirmed after film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the news. In his recent tweet, Adarsh stated that Salaar would officially hit screens in November, discontinuing its earlier September premiere. This alteration has set in motion a chain reaction in the release calendar, impacting other films such as Fukrey 3 and Tiger Nageswara Rao, both advancing their release dates.
Salaar’s Release Date Shift
Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to break the news, stating, “#BreakingNews… Prabhas: ‘SALAAR’ to arrive in Nov… #Salaar is NOT arriving on 28 Sept 2023, it’s OFFICIAL now… The post-production work of this #Prabhas starrer is going on in full swing… #HombaleFilms – the producers – are bringing the film in Nov 2023… New release date soon.” The film’s earlier plans hinted at a December release due to ongoing post-production efforts.
A Closer Look at Salaar
Directed by Prashanth Neel, known for the blockbuster KGF franchise, Salaar features a stellar cast, including Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, the movie boasts the same technical team behind the KGF series. With a budget of approximately ₹200 crore, Salaar was shot on 14 meticulously constructed sets in Ramoji City, Hyderabad. The film’s multilingual release includes Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi versions.
The film’s teaser introduced Tinnu Anand in a gripping standoff surrounded by heavily armed adversaries. Prabhas, emerging as the jungle’s king, added to the intrigue. While Prithviraj Sukumaran made a brief appearance in the teaser, Shruti Haasan remained conspicuously absent.
In light of Salaar’s rescheduling, other films have seized the opportunity to advance their release dates. Fukrey 3, starring Richa Chadha, Varun Sharma, Pulkit Samrat, Pankaj Tripathi, and Manjot Singh, will now grace the theaters on September 28, previously earmarked for Salaar. Ravi Teja’s Tiger Nageswara Rao is set to hit screens on September 29, capitalizing on the altered release calendar.
