Get ready to embrace the revolution in two-wheeled travel as the Orxa Mantis Electric Bike zooms into the Indian market at an attractive price of Rs 3.6 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
Despite not qualifying for the FAME 2 subsidy, this incredible electric bike offers a standard 1.3kW charger, ensuring each ride is a powerful and thrilling experience.
Standing tall in the realm of electric motorcycles, the Mantis directly competes with the Ultraviolette F77’s base variant, priced slightly higher at Rs 3.8 lakh. Powering this masterpiece is a mid-mounted motor that generates an impressive 28 bhp and 93 Nm, accelerating it to a claimed top speed of 135kph with an adrenaline-pumping 0-100kph time of just 8.9 seconds. What sets it apart is its cutting-edge liquid-cooled motor, a pioneering feature among electric two-wheelers in India. Orxa’s innovation with liquid cooling technology ensures a compact and lightweight motor, weighing a mere 11.5kg.
Despite weighing 182kg, the Orxa Mantis outperforms its rivals, including the 197kg Ultraviolette, thanks to its larger 8.9kWh battery pack. This powerhouse delivers an astounding range of 221km (IDC), exceeding expectations. Charging options are versatile, offering a standard 1.3kW charger and an optional faster 3.3kW Blitz charger, both available for wall mounting or as portable units.
Additionally, Orxa has exciting plans for luggage accessories, including 30-litre side panniers and a 45-litre top box perfectly designed to accommodate the portable charger. Prices for these add-ons will be revealed closer to the delivery date.
Scheduled to hit the roads in April 2024, starting from Bengaluru, the Orxa Mantis is now open for bookings at an initial price of Rs 10,000 for the first 1000 customers. Hurry, as the booking amount will increase to Rs 25,000 thereafter.
Setting new benchmarks, the Orxa Mantis emerges as a strong rival to the Ultraviolette F77, competing admirably against petrol-powered counterparts like the KTM 250 Duke, all while maintaining a price tag similar to the 2023 KTM 390 Adventure.
