Ather 450s Launch Date in India

Ather Energy launched its entry-level electric scooter Ather 450s alongside the updated version of 450x in India on August 11, 2023. This is Ather’s most affordable electric scooter, and its booking has also been initiated by the company.

Ather 450s Battery Capacity

The battery capacity of the new Ather 450s is 2.9 kWh. It is capable of providing a nominal voltage of 51.1V, which gives an IDC-certified range of 115 km. The battery is packed in an aluminum alloy case for protection against water and dust, and it has received an IP67 rating.

450s Battery Charging Time

The new 450s electric scooter supports both home charging and fast charging. Through a home socket, it takes 6 hours and 36 minutes to charge from 0 to 80%, and 8 hours and 36 minutes to reach a full 100% charge. On the other hand, the Ather Grid fast charger can provide a range of 1.5 km in just 1 minute of charging.

Ather’s New Variants

Ather Energy has introduced three new variants: 450s and 450x. All three variants share a similar design look. However, their battery capacity, range, motor power, and charging time differentiate them from each other.

Ather 450s Top Speed

The Ather 450s have a top speed of 90 km/h. This electric scooter features a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Motor and Power

The 450s electric scooter equipped with a PMSM motor generates a maximum power of 5.4 kW and a maximum torque of 22 Nm. This contributes to achieving a top speed of 90 km/h.

Ather 450s Range

This e-scooter comes with four riding modes: SmartEco, Eco, Ride, and Sport. The Ather 450s offers a maximum range of 115 km, with a real-world range of around 90 km depending on riding skills and environmental conditions. There are three variants of the scooter available in the market, each with a different IDC-certified range.

Ather 450s Warranty

The scooter comes with a warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km (whichever comes first), while the battery is covered by a 3-year warranty. With the Pro option, you can extend the battery warranty to 5 years or 60,000 km. If the battery’s performance drops below 70% during this period, it can be replaced free of cost.

The price of the Ather 450s varies from city to city and falls between 1.29 lakh to 1.32 lakh.

Ather 450s Booking and Delivery

Bookings for the Ather 450s are open, and you can pre-book it by paying 2500 tokens on Ather Energy’s official website. The company has announced that deliveries of the 450s will start from the last week of August.

Display

The Ather e-scooter features a 7-inch non-touch display that operates on the Android Open Source operating system. It comes with 8GB storage, and 1 GB RAM, and is powered by the Snapdragon 212 Quadcore 800 M processor.

Smart Features

Opting for the Pro plan provides you with smart features such as Dashboard auto-brightness, auto hold, auto indicator cut-off, guide me home light, vehicle fall safety, along with connected features like the Ather app, Navigation, Tow and Theft Notification, and Find my scooter.
