Exploring the Key Highlights of Ola S1X Electric Scooter

Ola Electric’s recent unveiling of the S1X electric scooter brings a new level of affordability to the market, available in three distinct trims: S1X (2kWh), S1X (3kWh), and S1X Plus. Building upon the foundation of the existing S1 e-scooter line, the S1X introduces several design enhancements and internal improvements that set it apart. Here are the top features that define the Ola S1X experience.

Distinctive Design Elements of Ola S1X:

While retaining much of the S1 Pro’s design language, the S1X stands out with its unique design elements. Notably, the headlight cowl boasts an expansive appearance, accompanied by a slightly exposed handlebar end for a distinctive touch. The addition of round mirrors and a vibrant two-tone paint scheme, along with the introduction of a new tubular single piece grab rail at the rear, further elevates the scooter’s aesthetics. The flat floorboard, a hallmark of Ola scooters, remains a convenience-focused feature.

Advanced Features and Technology:

The S1X comes equipped with LED lighting and a redesigned instrument console. The Plus variant showcases a generous five-inch LCD display, while the other two trims sport a compact 3.5-inch unit. The top-tier model introduces keyless operations, while the base and mid-level trims rely on a physical key. Across all variants, riders benefit from three ride modes – eco, normal, and sport – along with a reverse mode and side stand alert. Exclusive to the S1X Plus are additional features such as OTA updates, music control, navigation, smartphone connectivity, remote boot/unlock, cruise control, and integration with the Ola app.

Impressive Battery and Motor Specifications:

The S1X lineup is defined by its impressive battery and motor specifications. The base trim houses a 2kWh Lithium-ion battery paired with a 2.7kW motor, delivering a top speed of 85 kmph and an impressive true range of 85 km. The mid-level S1X model boasts a 3kWh battery matched with a 2.7kW motor, offering a top speed of 90 kmph and an extended range of 125 km. Lastly, the S1X Plus variant features a 3kWh battery and 2.7kW motor, achieving a top speed of 90 kmph and a range of 125 km.

Performance-Oriented Hardware Setup:

Across all three models, the hardware setup prioritizes performance and comfort. Telescopic front forks and dual rear springs ensure a smooth ride, while the braking system consists of drum brakes on both ends supplemented by CBS. The scooters roll on sturdy steel wheels wrapped in road-focused tires.

Pricing and Availability:

The base model of the Ola S1X starts at Rs. 79,999, with the 3kWh and Plus variants priced at Rs. 89,999 and Rs. 99,999, respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Bengaluru). However, these introductory prices are set to undergo a revision, with a Rs. 10,000 increase scheduled for August 22. As a result, the S1X (2kWh) will be priced at Rs. 89,999, while the S1X (3kWh) and S1X Plus will be available for Rs. 99,999 and Rs. 1.09 lakh, respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
