TVS X electric scooter launched in India, Know all details here

A few years ago, TVS wowed audiences at the Auto Expo with the TVS Creon—an electric scooter that not only boasted a revolutionary design but also featured remarkable design elements. Fast forward to today, and TVS has introduced the TVS X, the production incarnation of the TVS Creon. But has the essence of Creon’s appeal vanished? We’re here to provide you with an in-depth look.

TVS X: Aesthetic Excellence

The TVS X commands attention from every angle. Its front end carries the essence of sporty motorcycles, with two sections converging at the LED-lit headlamp unit adorned with distinctive lighting patterns. The integrated flush-fit indicators and thoughtfully positioned cornering lamps enhance its visual appeal. Drawing inspiration from the TVS NTorq scooter, the new alloy wheel design is a nod of admiration.

In profile, the scooter stands out due to its distinctive central spine housing the battery pack, topped by the charging flap. This avant-garde design approach is a novelty in the Indian market, akin to sporty internal combustion engine-powered motoscooters. The spacious footboards on either side and the comfortable riding posture resemble traditional scooters—a commendable choice.

The handlebar reveals the motoscooter essence of the X, featuring a sizable 10.25-inch adjustable infotainment system that goes beyond standard data provision. It moonlights as a video player and a gaming console. The adjustable levers and unique switchgear add to its distinctiveness. Additionally, the X boasts cruise control, operating in harmony with the trio of riding modes.

The twin-seat configuration is notable, with the rider’s seat offering more space than the pillion’s. Neatly integrated pillion foot pegs seamlessly blend into the rear bodywork when not in use. The streamlined grabrails are ingeniously incorporated within the sleek rear bodywork. Overall, the TVS X emerges as an aesthetically pleasing marvel.

TVS X: Innovation in Chassis, Battery, and Range

Revolutionizing with an all-new platform, the TVS X showcases a high-precision cast aluminium alloy frame at its core. Equipped with a 4.44kWh battery pack, the TVS X promises an impressive range of 140km. Two charging options are available: the Smart X Home rapid charger offers a 0-50% charge in 50 minutes (an optional 3 kW fast charger is available), while a portable charger provides 0-80% charge in 4 hours and 30 minutes (950W charger).

TVS X: Powerful Motor, Riding Modes, and Top Speed

Generating 11kW of peak power, the X claims the throne of the most potent EV in its segment, accomplishing a 0-40kmph acceleration in just 2.6 seconds and reaching 0-60kmph in 4.5 seconds. Its maximum attainable speed is a formidable 105kmph. With three riding modes, the Xonic mode emerges as the most potent. Noteworthy is the presence of a Ram Air Cooled Motor, a departure from conventional forced convection cooling, ensuring optimal cooling for vital components and sustained performance.

TVS X: Pricing and Availability

The TVS X enters the market at an introductory price of Rs 2,49,990 (Ex-showroom Bengaluru). Optional accessories include portable 950W chargers at Rs 16,275 (including GST) and a 3kW Smart X Home rapid charger. Notably, the FAME incentive doesn’t apply to the TVS X.

For the first 2,000 units, the “First Edition” emblem graces the TVS X, accompanied by a Concierge service and a Garmin Smartwatch, specially curated to complement the X experience. This premium offering comes at an additional cost of Rs 18,000. Deliveries are scheduled to commence in November 2023.
