KIA EV6

KIA has launched its first electric vehicle (EV), the KIA EV6, in the Indian market. The KIA EV6 is the most expensive car in KIA’s lineup in the Indian market. KIA has introduced two variants of the EV6, the GT-RWD and AWD.

KIA has sent only 100 units of the KIA EV6 car to the Indian market through the CBU route. The company has received a positive response from the Indian market, with 355 pre-bookings for the KIA EV6. The company is preparing to send more units of the KIA EV6 to India.

KIA EV6 Booking

Pre-booking for the KIA EV6 started on May 26, 2022. To book the EV6, customers need to pay an initial token of ₹3 lakhs.

The booking for the KIA EV6 is accepted by 15 dealerships in 12 cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Gurugram, Noida, Jaipur, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. Deliveries are set to begin from September 2022.

KIA EV6 Range and Speed

The KIA EV6 is equipped with a large 77.4 kWh battery. According to European standards, the KIA EV6 provides a range of approximately 310 miles or 500 km on a single charge. However, the company’s executives suggest that this figure might change in the future. The KIA EV6 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds.

KIA EV6 Engine and Power

The company has introduced two variants of the KIA EV6 in the market:

GT-RWD (Rear Wheel Drive): This variant features a single motor that drives the rear wheels. The motor in the GT-RWD can generate a maximum power of 229 Hp and a peak torque of 350 Nm.
AWD (All Wheel Drive): This variant features two motors that drive all four wheels. The combined power of both motors in the AWD variant is 325 Hp, with a peak torque of 605 Nm.
