Niharika Konidela Makes a Comeback to the Screen in "What The Fish" after Four Years; First-Look Revealed on Her Birthday

After a hiatus following her appearance in the 2019 film “Suryakantham,” Niharika Konidela is set to return with a new movie titled “What The Fish.”

Celebrating her birthday on December 18, the creators of her upcoming film, “WTF – What The Fish,” unveiled the first-look poster of the movie on this special occasion. Alongside this reveal, they also shared some exclusive insights into her upcoming project. Since her last appearance in “Suryakantham,” Niharika has been absent from the silver screen, only making an appearance in the 2023 web-series “Dead Pixels.”

Niharika Stars as Astalakshmi

The released poster showcases Niharika adorned in an elegant dress with a prominent dollar sign in the backdrop. The creators, in a statement, disclosed that she would portray the character of Astalakshmi, also known as Ash, in the film. The director of the movie, Varun Korukonda, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s a role that demands strong performance and character depth. Having Niharika on board is a blessing, and I’m eager to see the audience’s reaction to her portrayal.”

Did Niharika Replace Manchu Manoj?

Earlier, Manchu Manoj had announced his involvement in “WTF.” However, as he remained silent about the project subsequently and was not mentioned in the recent promotional material, speculation arose about whether Niharika had replaced him. This speculation gained traction, particularly because Manchu Manoj had announced impending fatherhood. Nevertheless, a member of the film’s team clarified, “No, he has not been replaced. Niharika and Vennela Kishore have also joined the project alongside him. He’s soon to become a father but is committed to completing his projects promptly.”

Insights into Niharika’s Life

In July, Niharika made headlines by announcing her separation from her husband, Chaitanya JV. The couple had tied the knot in Udaipur in December 2020 but mutually decided to part ways this year. Meanwhile, her brother Varun Tej had a wedding of his own, marrying Lavanya Tripathi in November in Italy. Niharika, who has kept a low profile since her 2019 appearances in “Suryakantham” and a cameo in her uncle Chiranjeevi’s “Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy,” is also involved in producing a couple of projects awaiting release.
